i have a home for the winter

jeez, i havnt updated this for aaaaages!! well i have made it to queenstown, i love it, its a pretty amazing place, sooo pretty!! i have a place to stay and applied for a few jobs and bought lots of bedding and thermals, its gona get cold!!, so iv been pretty productive so far. anyway, i still have to fill you in on the last bits of my trip, so judging by my last entry i was in rotorua doing the luge, that seems soo long ago! i have actually just applied for a job as a luge operator/instructor, how cool would that be!!

so after rotorua we headed to napier for 2 nights, we were going to stay in an old jail but they wanted $30 a night and had no internet at all, so we stayed at a converted stables, much better. so napier was quite pretty, tons of nice art deco buildings, and the weather was good :)

some of the buildings

the courtyard at the hostel

me and heather enjoying some lunch out in the courtyard

stopping for a coffee and cake break
a pretty fountain we found after our wine tasting
another pretty cool fountain we seen on our way out of napier
after napier we headed to wellington, stopping at the tui brewery on the way, to sample a small beer in the sun, would be rude not to

we stopped for lunch at a really wierd town, seemed to be full of special people, was like something out of a film! heather tried to use the local facilities but i think the retardness of the town had already worn off on her and she couldnt use the taps, bless
then we arrived in wellington where we met up with sarah and maria who we met in auckland. next day we went up the cable car

the old cable car
wellington is rediculously windy, esp when standing on top of a hill
checking out the sights round town
we went on a night out, woop, but first we played some drunken chatroulette, if you havnt experienced it you should be be warned, its not for the faint hearted
we met sarahs friend daniil

and briony who i know from fernie
next day we went to the weta cave, its the company that does all the effects and props and stuff for lord of the rings and avatar etc, very interesting

me and gollum

me holding the gun from district 9, they guy took it out of the case so we could hold it, i know im a bit geeky
the guy that actually made the gun, he said when he was working on it he thought it was going to be for avatar
heather, sarah and maria all headed back to auckland and left me behind, selfish buggers, i think they were sad to leave me tho
the next day i headed for the ferry to the south island
wellington from the ferry
ferry took about 3 hours, got myself a coffee and got caught up on my lost watching, was great. they even had an irish band playing!
so my next stop was nelson, i wanted to find some chilled out hippies and i'd hear they hang out there, il save that for my next update
